Theodore Payne – Legacy of a California Native Plantsman

Learn about Theodore Payne, an extraordinary nurseryman whose influence is still seen in gardens today.  Dr. Connie Vadheim (CSU Dominguez Hills) will discuss the man and some of the plants introduced by him as part of the gardening series “Out of the Wilds and Into Your Garden” on Thursday, May 9th, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Gardena Mayme Dear Library, 1731 W. Gardena Blvd., Gardena.  For additional information call (310) 217-0681 or visit www.gardenawillows.org.  This is the only gardening series to feature native plants appropriate for the Gardena/South Bay area – and it’s FREE!  This program is sponsored by the Friends of Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve.
